Kerry first enquired about having some family photos at Cleopatra Farmhouse in the Drakensberg and I thought, yes, a little far to travel simply for family photos but YES. As we emailed back & forth, the special occasion bringing all her close family together was in fact her wedding day. The day she married Wilfred. Wil, is such a genuine sensitive guy and he is also a photographer himself. This fact was casually only shared with me as the afternoon progressed, which I am very thankful for as I may have never accepted the challenge to photograph another photographer’s wedding.
Kerry and Wil wanted to share this important day with a chosen few and share a relaxed afternoon together laughing, sipping champagne and enjoying the fine food Cleopatra is known for. So relaxed in fact that they were happy to do a first look and move the creative couple shoot to before the ceremony as the priest was unfortunately running late. Fortunately for me this meant amazing light wrapping around a beautiful couple in love.
Thank you Wil & Kerry for inviting me to share in your intimate wedding celebration. Here are a few of my favourite images from Wil & Kerry’s wedding at Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse in the Drakensberg.
